We enjoyed our time at Lianshulu but the lodge was a slight disappointment, particularly given its more luxurious billing. The views from the lodge were somewhat restricted by tree cover/vegetation and there were some minor issues with one of the rooms such as lighting and boiler problems. All of which gave the impression that there was a bit of a lack of investment, even though new rooms were currently under construction. However, the staff were attentive, knowledgeable and keen to provide information. Our sundowner boat trip was interesting although there was not much larger game and, compared with other similar trips, it did feel a little over-priced. At night we could hear hippos snorting, walking and munching directly below the rooms - fantastic! In the morning there were leopard tracks on the path outside the rooms. The Park Authority was unhappy that the lodge was taking our park fees, they said that all visitors should pay direct at the Park Centre and not pay via the lodge as the lodge told us we should.
Very nice lodge, nice people and in the middle of the bush :)
We stayed at the Lianshulu Lodge as opposed to the "Bush" lodge. The food was outstanding and clearly the best of the whole trip which also included the Chobe Game Lodge, Okati and Sevuti. It is a great facility but a fan in the room would be an improvement as it was very hot when we stayed there.
