Very beautiful, great bird watching trip. But not near any game parks to see larger animals and not near hippos
Great lodge and wonderful location. Sunset cruise was somewhat disappointing after boat trips on the Chobe River.
While we enjoyed all of our accommodations, and didn't have any expectation of what we would find at the end of the very bumpy road, the Hakusembe River Lodge was our absolute favorite place of everywhere we stayed! The setting was amazing, the staff first class. The evening champagne tour is not to be missed. A lightening storm came in around sunset in the area of the lodge, and the power went out as dinner began. The staff came around with solar lanterns for each table to dine by, and to take to light the path back to our rooms. It was a magical experience. We were on a very tight time schedule to get to all of the places on our itinerary, but this is someplace I would recommend (and wished for) an extra day/night to just relax by the pool and enjoy the scenery and surroundings.
Accommodation better than good, near the river, good service and good restaurant. Expensive
Great location and relaxing after a long day on the road. The corporate ownership shows. Because we are travelling as a couple does not mean we want to be sat at a table for two for every meal. (This comment applies to some of the other lodges!!) It was a little disappointing that the river cruise was booked out by a group meaning the FIT's were not catered for.
Beautiful lodge, great location, lovely staff - who took us on an impromptu boat trip to see a croc. Great food in a lovely restaurant.
Lovely place. Beautiful bungalows. Very friendly staff.
was our surprise - we knowed this lodge from a former stay - TOP level service - complete renewing - 6 Top chalets - 1-6 in the river front ; 7-12 behind 2nd row. We stayed in Nr. 1 - modern - large space - AC;new restaurant with open deck - excellent dinner - top range.
Great lodge, great service, great location. The parking area where you leave your vehicle to be taken there by boat does not look secure (though there was a security guard and we had no problems). However, if we had not been to this lodge before, we would have been concerned about the quality based on the parking and launch site. It does not match the high standards of the lodge location.
We were double booked but staff sorted the problem with no fuss and put us in 2 cottages. Relatively upmarket, with big restaurant and bar. Trips on the river were not operating because of low river levels, which was disappointing.
A cool place to explore the Caprivi strip. If you're a bird-watcher, this place would be paradise. The number of different types of cool birds that we saw was unbelievable. Be sure to bring ear plugs if you want to sleep at night as the bird-life apparently stays up all night chittering away.
This was a very pleasant surprise. The location on the Okavango River, the grounds as well as the whole facility was fantastic. The rooms were very comfortable and beautifully furnished.
Very relaxing & we could easily have spent a couple of nights there. The setting on the Okavango River is beautiful. The rooms were nice. The food was good & they catered well for the gluten free. A lovely sundowner cruise on the river. We could easily have spent a couple of nights there.
Air conditioning worked and we had a room close to the facilities. Would give it and average rating
We were a bit disappointed with the campsite here. Although there were only four pitches, three were located too close together and lacked privacy. Pitches were lumpy owing to vehicles churning up the sand; this made it difficult to find a suitable spot for the tent. On the plus side, pitches have their own private shower and toilet as well as power, lighting and a sink. In addition, the campsite is located next to a large wetland area which made for good birding. The setting for the lodge and bungalows on the river is memorable and we had a great meal in the restaurant.
Charming place with great views.
we liked the place , it was good situated on the way to Caprivi . nice Sunset tour by boat
This was a good stopping off place and it is difficult to assess it as we just spent one night here. The accommodation was very good as well as the food.
Very nice resort.
This was a stopover between Etosha and Caprivi and was a relaxing haven. We had one of the new chalets on the river and it was excellent. It was well appointed and comfortable with a view across the river to Angola. The central lounge/ dining area has a huge balcony, great for relaxing and watching the river. The food was above average and plentiful with good choices, the staff were welcoming and friendly. There are not a lot of activities here apart from the river, however we did find it the perfect place to relax and catch our breath, two nights here is all that is needed.
really enjoyed this place. The staff were great and the river cruise was enjoyable saw a lot of birds which I enjoy.Food tasty
Nice place, a very good lodge. You can walk around.
Wonderful lodge, good meal, wonderful situation on the river , amazing people.
very nice and friendly.......recommendable
The food was VERY GOOD! And the platform they have over the river is great. We saw one of the most beautiful sunsets there!
A bit overpriced for what we got- we stayed in the floating home on the river and it was not a great experience.
Paradise. The floating lodge was wonderful, and the staff are lovely.
Great place, fantastic service & food, Wonderful team of people. Lodges a bit outdated
food was very good here and a lovely setting
A very nice place. We lived in the floating chalet, which was a wonderful experince. Both owner and staff were friendly and nice. We would like to go there again.
