Great experience and the individual huts and communal areas very rustic and quirky. Nice setting and a memorable stay.

Malley, Andy - 04th Dec, 2017

Quirky rest camp. Nice to break up our drive for one night. Service was good. Swimming pool was relaxing.

Hagel, Luke - 04th Nov, 2017

Very nice campsite, beautiful bar and restaurant, with self-made furniture. Nice place to stay!

Wouters, Arno - 28th Jun, 2017

Camping site was OK with private ablutions/shower close to the river. Noisy hippos kept me awake part of the night :-).

Nilsson, Lars Erik - 07th Mar, 2017

A little deception pour this camp, very very small accomodation, NO AIR-CONDITIONNING AND NO FAN. So it was very HOT !!!

Lecunff, Chantal - 23rd Oct, 2016

nothing special, reasonable ablution block. Nice pool amd restaurant area

Valkhoff, Vera - 08th Oct, 2016

Pleasant and quirky

Pollock, - 12th Sep, 2016

pleasant camp with excellent food

Savory, Heather - 16th Jun, 2016

We were only here briefly on our way back to Windhoek from the Caprivi strip. The campsite was decent and had all the amenities but wasn't special at all.

Auge, Michael - 22nd Dec, 2015

Great overnight stop on the way up to Caprivi. By staying here we were able to spend the morning in Etosha, have a look around Tsumeb and call in at the Hoba Meteorite before pulling up for the night at Roys. Much better than ploughing straight on up to Rundu. Accommodation is lovely, loads of hearty food, good bar and friendly owners. Antelope wander around their reserve and accommodation freely which is also nice.

Taylor, Dan - 06th Oct, 2015

Beautiful place, artistic decoration and good service.

Martinez, Silvia - 24th Sep, 2015

Very quirky, interesting place, good food. Poor air-conditioning - didn't work very well

Thea - 09th Mar, 2015

Very nice quirky place. Enjoyed that we could get out and go for a bush walk alone here. Food very good but typically inflated price reflecting that you have little other choice! B&B room lovely, but gaps around doors and windows means mosquitoes are inevitable. Nets provided smelt very musty so I decided to risk the insects! Disappointed to find two single beds rather than a double (and not positioned so that you can push them together. Bathroom sort of open-plan, so make sure you and your trail companion are close otherwise it might be awkward! Overall a lovely place to stay, I did really like it as it was unusual and the attention to detail in the decoration was excellent. I did feel the main thing that let it down was that the staff seemed to be literally just bar/B&B managers, with no interest or knowledge at all in the wildlife or animals on the site. I got the feeling they just stocked the land with a few animals for money-making reasons and really didn`t care about that side of things, which was a shame.

Leggat, Katheryn - 07th Jan, 2015

Highly esoteric. Not sure we got the point!

Barton, Richard - 15th Oct, 2014

Surprisingly much more comfortable as expected. The restaurant offers a wide variety of choices in a good quality. Only the wine selection is quite limited. The rooms are very special and well adapted to the environment and are large and well suited.

Cavali,ivor - 04th Oct, 2014

nice place, very british

Bauer Ingrid - 09th Aug, 2014

Very good, nice food and good internet

Vickers, Stephen - 21st Nov, 2013

A good stop on the way to Caprivi strip. Near to interesting places such as Grootfontein. Accommodation was a bit spartan, but quite functional

Hopkinson, Gary - 23rd Oct, 2013

The big surprise of the trip. We hadn`t been there previously and were a little apprehensive because of comments on the internet when we were, in a sense, responsible for 8 fellow travellers, but everyone LOVED this accommodation. Lovely staff. The bungalows are so wonderfully eccentric and comfortable. An excellent evening meal, beautifully presented; good breakfast too. Everyone wished that we had an additional night there, even though the game was limited. (Antelope and zebra did wander through the property).

Greenwood, Jan - 21st Oct, 2013

Lovely and quirky. Loved the effort put into the lodges, which were in stark contrast to sloppy Thakadu. Highly recommend it

Webber, Caroline - 25th Jul, 2013

actually we weren`t expecting much here, but it was a pleasant surprise. GREAT food! and cabins fine. patio was good for congregating and talking to other visitors. grounds a bit slow for birding but we were getting toward the end of the trip and getting tired too.

Beardmore, Carol - 29th May, 2013

Unique and very warm place. nice people attending and also nice food. Nice to be there.

Dielen, Paul - 27th Jul, 2012

tiny room although wheelchair accessible with shower with seat built in. no comfortable sitting area either in room or on patio. no chairs or table on patio. just ok

Oldham, Erica - 11th Feb, 2012

Very friendly - great food! Still, one night is probably enough.

Bergstrom, Jorgen - 08th Oct, 2011

Quality has declined since we last stayed at Roy's Camp. The female host seemed unfriendly to other guests, although responsive when approached. Dinner was marginal, dessert was alarming. Bedsprings poking through old mattresses were very uncomfortable and debris from trees rang on the metal roof all night. We didn't eat or sleep much here.

Ong, Cori - 07th Oct, 2011

Very rustic, creative and charming place. Helpfull and friendly staff with good traditional food.

Wentzel, Jo-anne - 21st Sep, 2011

Very nice place, great kitchen and special friendly atmosphere

Van Den Berg, Martin - 27th Aug, 2011

Great spot, Great accommodation, hosts were fabulous, and we went out to see the San people. I found all the stuffed animals a little strange, but hey , we were in Africa.

Kaszo, Attila - 02nd Jul, 2011

Great food and nice owners. It seems like more of a spot to camp as the cabins were musty and quite full of mosquitoes.

Bowie, Rhena - 26th Apr, 2011

Great place. Far better then described in guides. Wonderful food buffet
