The staff here were super friendly and the river cruise/game drive that we went on was spectacular. We had our first encounter with hippos which was thrilling and a little bit scary and we had a fantastic couple of nights camping here. If you're staying here, I recommend some sort of cruise on the river in the evening as the views of the sunset from the water were amazing.
Great location. Management and staff very helpful and prepared to go the extra mile. Had a special trip arranged at v short notice to see the newly-arrived carmines at daybreak. Johann is an especially good guide who quickly understands the levels and interests of guests and finds what he can to make sure each activity is top notch.
Nice access by boat, good welcome in the lodge. But closed toilets would be best, for 4 people... We did a long and agreable boat trip and saw many animals and birds, very close.
Setting on island with boat trip great introduction. Game drive best of all game activities we had. Setting of bungalows provide little privacy
We had a very good time at the lodge the food was excellent and the game drive better. One problem is the undermine their product by not having good presentation. Staff in dirty worn out clothes, especially on the transfer boat which gives you your first impression and is not good. The place has slightly gone bush but with a bit of a change to presentation it would look as good as it is. This is not a criticism just observation , we really enjoyed our stay.
nice place in the middle of nowhere. Fantastic boat cruise
Mazambala Lodge is one of the most underrated lodges that I have ever been to. The situation is perfect on the Kwando River. The dining area is lovely and the deck overlooking the plains is wonderful. The rooms are very comfortable, cool and clean. The management and staff are really a cut above the norm and i would recommend anyone going to this area to stay here. The boat trips were informative and wonderful and the Game Drive was very very special.
Magic place with wonderful staff.
Great value and great location, tour: similar to Okavango but much cheaper and better amibence
very nice and friendly.......recommendable
Il lodge è situato in uno scenario fantastico,il servizio è impeccabile e la crociera al tramonto sul fiume Kwando è indimenticbile .
What a surprise. We saw many more animals than we expected to see on the boat trip. Very well run and organised. Campground well set up and peaceful, dinner at the lodge was great - delicious set menu. All staff friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone, either to camp, or from what we saw of the rooms, stay at the lodge.
Great Lodge. One of the most friendly and professional. Reflects the owner. Cool location. River trips fun. Good safaris. Recommended!
We voted this our favourite accommodation of the trip and sent Stephanie, Johann and Andre a box of our favourite Red Rock crisps to let them know! Andre`s friendly welcome after a long drive along the B4 was memorable as was the relaxed, understated style of the lodge which somehow seems to capture the essence of the Caprivi. We loved the river cruise and would highly recommend the nature walk for all the anecdotal information one gathers from the guide.
This was our favorite place of all we stayed. Very well run.
Wonderful spot. The owner is friendly and very hospitable. We really enjoyed the boat cruise. A very relaxing spot to spend a few days.
This most the most amazing stay on the whole route. The people are great and the location is breathtaking. Thank you for introducing me to this Lodge.
does not accept credit cards but lovely place to stay
