Very nice place, beautiful large room, beautiful view from the deck, good food, lovely people. The problem was that the road between Okaukuejo and here was really difficult. The D2695 and D2697 was remote in a farming area, requiring us to open gates to pass through several times. We nearly go stuck in high sand at one point, and without cell service and no other traffic, don't know what we would have done if we did get stuck. But aside from that, the lodge and the people, the Himba Village, all really interesting and enjoyable.
1 star rating. Zero customer service no ambiance and very basic accom, food also not so good. If the Himba village was not there you could wipe it off your books. Will not return.
Excellent service and advices from Toko Lodge team. Great discovery of the Himba people.
Helpfull people (our daugter fell ill there, they went to great lenght to help us out). The night drive was already fully booked when we arrived.
Although there is no much to see and do overthere, the Rusting Toko Lodge has been a beautiful stop to understand their sustainable management and how they carry the farm. It is a place to visit
Nice lodge, good location next to pupose-built Himba village. Easy way to see the Himba.
Superb Night Drives (main reason for staying here) with Aardvark and Aardwolf seen. Did not offer lunches
Relaxing place. Kind host.
Great space, very ecologic, great attention to details
Nicco gets the prize for the very best host of the whole trip. Thomas at Hoodia came in close second. Food family style buffet, met some nice travellers in the informal setting, good night drives. Wifi works well in the dining area, nice view. We went to the Cheetah Farm Kamanjab and loved that. We just basically relaxed here for 2 days. Drive to Galton Gate about 1 hour. Room spacious.
Fantastic night drive and really helpful owner
This one somehow was the least favourite one. Not many activities there (or the activities short) and probably we found that wasn't so well managed as other lodges. As a good thing: we did the best night safaris there and the swimming pool was very clean.
Nice lodge, food and facilities although the owner did try and push several products and tours he was offering too much
We booked this accommodation as we wanted to visit a Himba village. We were very pleased with the rooms and the rather chilly swimming pool was refreshing about the heat and the dust! The staff were courteous and helpful and the food was very good. We also enjoyed the night drive. A very pleasant 2 night stay.
Very nice reception and service. A very big clean and nicely decorated room. The swimming pool was a bit neglected. The owner provided useful information on Etosha. Perfect place to reach the Galton Gate early in the morning and enjoy a full day in Etosha.
Very disappointing. Old run down accommodation. The game drive is expensive and a ride on the farm at night.... their website bears no relationship to the experiences. The Himba village tour is totally overpriced. They were good at explaining Etosha access through Galton Gate and cleaning our cars and providing us with waterhole priorities. The meat was tough for R180!
Wonderful place and people and activities. Highly recommend
This is a pleasant place to stay. Our rooms were large and comfortable with spacious terraces and lovely views. The pool looked lovely, though was too cold for a dip in July. The food was good and the owners were hospitable and very helpful.
The family bungalow was very spacious. We did the visit to the Himba village next to the camp in the late afternoon when the light is better for pictures. Imanuel, our guide, was very knowledgeable.
A nice quiet place to relax, good food and nice atmosphere.
Fantastic night drives. A lot of attention paid to clients` needs. Beautiful room. Very good food for breakfast and dinner.
A wonderful lodge who gave us their nicest room and looked after us well. The view from the room and the pool is wonderful.
the lodge is so nice and the service of Michael is so perfect that it is worth to go 10 km more to reach it.. In the rustig Lodge we felt at home. Excellent!!!!!
It seems the lodge and the farm around don't have the same owner. The game drive in the cow farm is not very exciting. Interesting to see the new Himba village nearby (it saved us 10 hours driving to the north)
This is a nice lodge to serve as a transit point between Etosha and Opuwo. The rooms are nice and the food is quite good. A bit more basic than perhaps Frans Indongo or Naua Naua, but nice.
