The highlight of the tour. Great lodge, very friendly staff, outstanding service and location. Great food!

The landscape here takes on a spectacular lunar quality and the park is thriving with wildlife. The ancient rock art was fascinating to see and the organised a 'private' drive/walk for us to see them. The guide was excellent and showed us a fascinating array of wildlife, insects and plants. The accommodation was excellent and their meals exceptional. The pool was a welcome relief from the heat The onsite manager 'gets it' and ensured we had a fab time.

There is nothing major to do in Ai Aiba, but it is a beautiful hotel and has amazing surroundings. It is a great place to stop between Etosha and Swakopmund

amazing location

The place was wonderful. We would like to have stayed 2 nights!

Vicart, Adeline - 23rd Aug, 2017

Big plus: the location, 1o min walking distance from the first rock paintings, spectacular scenery, very nice nature drive with a competent guide to see more paintings and beautiful mountain scenery.10 min driving to an interesting living San museum which we enjoyed too. Small minus: new management since Nov 2016 which tries hard but has not enough efficient personnel to keep up with the always fully booked lodge: in particular around breakfast service was somewhat slowed down due to lack of personnel. According to less recent reviews the policy of the lodge has changed completely (before some owners who really cared personally to explain more about the paintings - now more oriented to increase the standard of the lodge, with half success up to now). The quality of the food was really high, though.

Magic with great hospitality and staff

Farmer, Chris - 31st Jul, 2017

Melissa and Gavin were very friendly and welcoming. It was a little awkward being the only guests when it came to meal times but the staff was great and the food was delicious. Rooms are a great value and super comfortable. We saw kudu and warthogs at the waterhole only a couple of hundred feet from our chalet!

Aswin, Andrea - 01st Jun, 2017

A very nice lodge with excellent food and outstandig guidance on the rock art by Martin. He also helped us with coming into contact with the Ekuta farm so that we could see the rock paintings here.

Ulmius, Jan - 16th Apr, 2016

Great place. The woman in charge was wonderful, great food and doing the walk with the San Bushmen was fantastic.

Beasley, Christine - 12th Apr, 2016

Stunning location. Maybe my favorite based on pure looks alone. The food was fancier, but not as good, as Zebra or Desert Homestead. They were very strict about details - like - where are your vouchers - I need all the vouchers immediately, etc.

Benning, Shelley - 14th Jan, 2016

Real surprise - thought we would be just stopping for the night, but evening drive was a massive surprise with 2 leopard and the best sunset of the whole trip. Very comfortable rooms in a brilliant location. Food was good but not up to standard of other lodges. The manager was a real enthusiast who brought the place to life. Thoroughly recommend a stop here - good pool and the rock paintings were great to see.

Eastell, Rupert - 10th Jan, 2016

Stunning landscape. Having the freedom to walk around the lodge was nice after so much time in a vehicle.

Leaver, Ellen - 29th Sep, 2015

Enjoyable. We were the only guests and received royal treatment. The rock paintings are worth an early morning walk.

Van Der Haar, Frits - 26th Nov, 2014

Nice walk & view

Bailley, Vivien - 06th Nov, 2014

Well maintained lodge with good service in a superb environment. Unfortunately, they dont provide activities on Sundays. This was not mentioned in your webpage descriptive. What a pity for this incredible location being confined at the lodge place.

Cavali,ivor - 04th Oct, 2014

Nice stay at Ai Aiba lodge just for one night :-) The highlight was definitely the evening drive which was a combination of a game drive (first time seeing giraffes), rock paintings tour and sundowners to a lovely sunset. Our guide translated to English as everybody on the tour was German! A special mention about the rock paintings in the area which we enjoyed immensely, as good as Twevelfontein actually! Well worth doing the hiking trail as well as the drive. Perhaps only negative was a slight lack of personal service, and one staff member was very rude to us the morning we left...

Rocliffe, Jamie - 03rd Oct, 2014

This is a lavish place in an out of the way location. Saw some nice pictographs on a short but interesting hiking trail. We chose this lodge because it was about halfway back to Windhoek from Grootburg Lodge.

Murphy, Dennis - 01st Aug, 2014

What a treat. Seemed understaffed. Only one person working dinner and drinks for 20 people. Manager was cool. And he is clearly passionate about the rock paintings and our drive / tour with him was worth the visit. We spent one night, but another day there to chill out and enjoy the lodge would have been worth it. Great last stay for the final evening of our trip.

Terblanche, Dave - 10th Jul, 2014

Martin the manager was extremely helpful in getting a puncture we had fixed and giving us advice on sights to see later in our holiday.

Hey, Peter - 12th May, 2014

Fantastic lodge. Wonderful setting. Fantastic food. Wish we could have stayed longer

Montgomery, Elaine - 18th Apr, 2014

A pleasant and different experience from our other accomodation

Klopp, Malcolm - 12th Apr, 2014

A special and warm lodge to stay (more than one night). Very good staff.

Very great spot. Comfortable and quiet lodge. Would have like to spend more time here.

Adams, Duane - 17th Jul, 2013

Absolutely magic place. Your suggestion and we did not know what to expect. Thanks

Waddington, Dennis - 11th Nov, 2012

Very nice suprice! Beautiful hut and what a view!

Runnedahl, Marie - 24th Oct, 2012

Stunning location, very nice accommodation, we appreciated in particular the guidance through the rock paintings by the lovely habituated meerkat Meggie.

Concaro, Filippo - 21st Sep, 2012

A beautiful Lodge with very helpful and attentive staff especially the manager. Advise people not to miss the Living Museum set up by the San people.

Costello, Keith - 23rd Aug, 2012

first class, 5 star. everything worked..hotwater, wine glasses in room, clean pool, nice bar. manager extended our rock painting tour from 1.5 hours to 4 hours and gave complimentary check out at 2pm due to long drive. only folks there. rock painting great. a little walk but not excessive and hubby could carry or push me to all paintings. our favorite lodge, just wish shower opening a bit larger so wheelchair could pass.

Oldham, Erica - 11th Feb, 2012

Nice lodge and rooms. Local reception staff was very friendly however did not really know anything about tours/dinner prices etc. We found the info in her staff notebook. The manager seemed less than friendly to us compared to the other guests who spoke German!

Turton, Jessica - 26th Dec, 2011

Lovely accommodation and extremely friendly staff as well as a stunning location.
