This was our ONLY disappointment. For what we paid to stay here one night, Le Mirage fell short of our expectations. I think it really just wasn't a good fit for our style and the service just seemed "off" to us. The building looked out of place and once inside, if felt like Le Mirage was trying too hard to be a luxury hotel but the reality was that communications and service were off the mark. That said, the terrace for sunset and breakfast was delightful and the room we had was spacious.
I don't feel this place was worth the expense. I am more comfortable in homestays so it may just be a matter of preference.
very nicely located, beautiful views, nice accommodations, we had a room in the Oasis, on the second floor with a balcony, facing the dunes and the sunset! again, the toilet was located behind a half-height divider, no door to the bedroom, which may be a concern to some travelers desiring more privacy. staff here were quite helpful. however, the internet access is atrocious!
Rooms could do with some maintenance, good restaurant with very friendly service, hotel staff not as friendly. Not a bad experience, but other places were more value for money.
We loved this lodge. Spacious rooms overlooking desert, and the food was excellent. Very friendly st staff.
Lovely place -Great pool and food. Wifi was hopeless
Very good hotel!!! We liked especally the room and the swimming pool!!! Small minus point is the noise that you hear at night from the generator that is turning constantly. I would also like to mention the very helpfull (deputy) manager ...I forgot his name... But the dinner was not so special...they announced a five course menu, but in reality there was not so much on our plates (very small and little portions)
Allison was not able to get us into some of the other lodges in Seriem area. When we drove in, we were pretty put off by this weird-looking desert castle. Our oversized room had a nice view but was extremely hot, with broken AC. However, the hotel worked hard (unsuccessfully) to solve the problem (and couldn't change our room -- 'fully booked'). The next day we were given another room where the AC was working. We were impressed with the hard-working staff, particularly Theo who was the dining room manager. We enjoyed the sundowner near the waterhole and the very good food. We also enjoyed the beautiful setting that this lodge has. It was a little far from the gate to Sossusvlei but not bad. Breakfast started at 6:00am which was very good and allowed us to make it to the gate quite early. We know that the staff had to get up at 4-5:00 am to make this lovely breakfast. So, all in all, it was good experience.
A luxury place near Sesriem and Sossuslvei, with also a SPA inside (in general we're not used to this, but I think that sometimes and after almost 3500km it could be ok !)
very nice and friendly, great dinner. Might be an option for more than one night
A wonderful experience in the desert. We were all very impressed with the all-round quality of our experience there. The staff were exceptional in their efforts to make our stay the enjoyable event that it was.
WONDERFUL PLACE . a very different experience. Do not use the hotel guide.
A little impersonal here but the food was good. Our room was huge with a very open bathroom - a little strange when they don't have any rooms with double beds! We were slightly annoyed that they bumped us off our quad biking as they had a large group who arrived and wanted to do it. No loss though as we were tired and happy to relax instead.
Very good accomodation for family, 20 minutes from Sesriem gate, quad trip wonderfull.
ok, dinner was quite good
Enjoyed it but probably wouldn`t stay here again, a little overpriced
Excellent accommodation (apart from cold shower) and very good service. Shame we weren`t able to stay there longer but there too much to see!
This was great. A big spacious room with great beds for the 4 of us. Dinner the first night was an outstanding 5-course meal. The 2nd night was a disappointing buffet (not great food, not enough food and poorly presented). But all in all very nice and 2 nights there is about right in my opinion.
The staff is not very service-minded. Food is poor, especially breakfast.
Beautiful place to stay!! The food was absolutely stunning, the staff was excellent: Professional, efficient and VERY VERY Friendly!! And the facilities were great. Ten out of Ten! Now if only the Namibian authorities would do something about the roads I would go back there every year!!
