A lovely homely lodge. A bit tricky to get to and some directions regarding the gates on the road to it would have been reassuring! Very welcoming atmosphere.
The accommodation, food (including gluten free options) & staff here were extremely good (& it`s got the fastest internet in Namibia!). However, the activities are very limited. There is really only one game drive option & for the morning nature walk, you have maybe two options - one of which is back along the game drive route. Elephant tracking is an option but when we were there, they hadn`t seen elephants for several weeks. We enjoyed it as `time out` half way through the trip but if you`re on a tight schedule & interested in animals, I would suggest a maximum of two nights or not at all. The massages were excellent though!
Pleasant property but it not seem to offer anything special. In retrospect we would have preferred to go to Twyfontein or where we could see more rock art.
Jan and Suzi, the owners here, are so knowledge and hospitable. We learned a huge amount about the wonderful environment here - geological and biological. And the lodge itself is perfection -- well blended into the surrounding landscape and all your needs thought of. The communal dinners were really special.
Fantastic lodge with a very enthousiastic owner
A really nice stay. there were a lot of very personal touches where the staff learnt our names and the communal meals we had. The hot spring there was very good to relax in too.
An ideal Lodge for people beginning their Namibian experience. The chalets were lovely with all the facilities including wireless internet in the room. The hosts Jan and Suzie were warm and welcoming and Jan`s wealth of knowledge was incredible. He was able to identify all the flora and fauna and the history of the country and area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the meals were good and it was the perfect place to relax. Jan`s morning walks were interesting and informative and gave us a good grounding for the rest of our trip. Access is down a long road but it is well worth the visit, one night is not enough. At least 2 nights are required to appreciate the beauty of the lodge and the surrounding area.
Home away from home! Perfect!
Very friendly and lovely lodge...enjoyed it but would not recommend to families to stay too long with kids...highly recommend it
One of the highlights of our time in Namibia. This Lodge is run with just the most personal touch. Jan was one of the best guides we had in Namibia and the hospitality that he and Susi showed is exceptional. Probably not as much to see in the area as the rest of Namibia but we just LOVED the relaxing beauty of the place. Value for money as well.
We were expecting much from Huab and we were not disappointed at all. The place has a special atmosphere, Ian and Suzie and Jap and Cathy are great hosts. We liked the breakfasts and dinnersť and appreciated the quality of the food. I went to two excellent morning walks with Ian, Martine and Lucie had very good massages by Johann and the three of us went on a superb sunset drive with Ian and Suzie. For me this drive was one of the best I had (on more than 60 from my several stays in Southern Africa) even without big 5. There was such an atmosphere and Ian is so knowledgeable about the bush! When we arrived they had prepared us one room as a family room with two 140cm beds. As we had paid for 2+1, we asked to have a second room, which they gave us without problem. It was much better for us as we are not small
perfect. management and service was so warm and kind
Very positive experience, maybe a bit too expensive for the service provided.
Great place, great people, can't rate it highly enough. We are definitely going to go there again. Another of those places where we could have stayed longer, 3 or 4 nights would have been fine.
Lovely place. The owners were very warm and hospitable. We loved it.
