A very nice, small Lodge. Very good balance between Price and what you get.
Excellent service here. Beautiful location and quality food, wine. Recently renovated and felt like a niche-luxury accommodation.
Beautiful house to stay, beautiful view from terrace.
Beautiful setting, very friendly staff and a great experience to meet a chat with the miners.
We really only slept and ate here, but the staff was friendly, food great, and views amazing.
Could have stayed here another night. Very nice place with enough to do for a few days. We would have enjoyed the pool if we had more time. Dinner was nice. Enjoyed the small miners tour!
Good, nice room and location, very kind
Nice place, would benefit with secure method of leaving the window screens in place overnight. Food poor.
Beautiful place, very nice room, excellent dinner, beautiful landscape you can enjoy at sunset or breakfast. Nice reception and service
Very beautiful. We absolutey enjoyed it.
One of the nicer lodges we stayed in - especially taking into account value for money. Personal service, good food. We went there for the small miners excursion: first a short game drive (but not much to see), then a nice walk up hill, followed by a meeting with the small miners. At the time, we were a bit disappointed we did not get to see any of the actual tunnels, just people selling stones. But the video shown after dinner helped to contextualize (too dangerous to go to the actual tunnels). All in all, glad we did the excursion, as it opened our eyes to actual living conditions.
Beautiful setting for this one. Rooms lovely and food good.
Friendly staff and great food
We met some birders here. Another place with great views. I should have taken more pictures.
Bon accueil, bonne nourriture, joli cadre
We were pleasantly surprised by Hohenstein as we`d really only booked it as a quick stop between northern Damaraland and the Namib Naukluft National Park. Service was absolutely excellent and our room was large and comfortable. We had an excellent view from our terrace over to the mountains.
Beautiful view to Hohenstein Mountain. Large room in a modern bungalow. We had coffee and tea station and mosquito gauze on door and windows (not on your website). Very friendly staff. There is no access to Ameib Ranch, like Mike wrote me last January. Ideal stop for a half day trip to Bull's Party (1 hrs drive) and for a day trip to Spitzkoppe (nearly 2 hrs drive).
A nice lodge in a good location, but something is missing here. Don`t feel the new owners are really interested in their guests. They did not even bother to say goodbye to us. We did our own excursion to the neighbouring farm, which is very worthwhile to see the Rock paintings and the amazing Rock formations `Bull`s Party`. They denied knowing we were vegetarians (although I had also mentioned it in an email), so not a lot on offer and the food was not up to the standard of the other lodges.
Nice and moderately priced place. I had one expectation that could not be fulfilled: To have a hike to the top of Hohenstein mountain. But neither your office nor the staff at Hohenstein had been there, and neither could help me getting there. Probably something I would need to plan and do alone.
