Introduction: Montagu's harrier (Circus pygargus) only inhabit grasslands associated with floodplains or open pans. They roost in grass, rarely in trees often sharing with pallid harriers.
Distribution: Patchy occurrences in Etosha National Park, Caprivi.
Diet: Hunts late into the evening, usually for termites and locusts, as well as mice in dry lake beds in the northern regions of the country.
Description: Ash-grey upper body parts, owl-like facial ruff, grey bill, bright yellow eyes and yellow legs and feet.
Breeding: Extralimital.
Size: 45cm. Weight: 370g.
