Birds of Namibia
There is just the one family of Coliiform which are the Family Coliidae, mousebirds.
FAMILY COLIIDAE
This family are small, stout, birds with long, thin, tails that taper off towards the end. Their plumage is mainly brown or grey, they have short bills which are used to slice off leaves and shoots. These birds are so-called because of their short, strong legs and toes are at the forward areas of the body, enabling them to shuffle 'mouse-like' along branches. They feed mainly on fruits and leaves and roost communally, as well as being regular dust and sunbathers. There are only 2 species of mousebirds found in Namibia. They are:
