There is just the 1 family of the Order Musophagiformes found in Namibia, Family Musophagidae which are Turacos.
FAMILY MUSOPHAGIDAE
Turacos are medium to large-sized tree-living birds with bright colourful plumages, mostly purple, green or grey with many species supporting red in the wings. Their legs are rather long and the feet are strong. Tails are generally long. A feature of this species is their loud, far-carrying barking voices. They eat fruit, leaves, flowers and buds and on occasions invertebrates. Females lay between 2 and 3 white eggs and chicks leave the nest before they are able to fly, clambering to safety in nearby branches. There are 2 species of this family found in Namibia. They are:
