Renting a car in Namibia is the easy part, once you are out on the road you are likely to encounter unfamiliar road conditions. Careful expedition planning and 4×4 experience is essential. Once you leave the city of Windhoek you are on your own with endless miles of dust and dirt. Namibia is the place where your 4×4 fantasies become reality.
Not enough emphasize can be placed on the real dangers tourists face when travelling through the unfamiliar Namibian countryside. Even if you do not plan to venture into the more remote areas, you will still have to negotiate long stretches of dangerous gravel roads. The number of tourist related car accidents in Namibia are frightening and a few hours spent on one of these courses will make a self drive tour in Namibia a more enjoyable (and safer) experience. To prepare you for your journey, we offer basic off-road driving techniques for 4×4 as well as sedan vehicles. Our 4×4 instruction will get you accustomed to your vehicle and its accessories. A basic survival course and optional survival box is offered to aid you in case of emergencies.

Sedans
Cost: N$310 per vehicle. 1, 5 Hour course includes: Technical driving skill in various road surfaces. Using Namibian roads. Practical instruction such as changing a tyre. Lecture on basic survival techniques in case of emergency.
4×4
Cost: N$630 per vehicle. 3 Hour 4x4 courses include: Correct application of the 4x4 high and low ranges. Use and implementation of hub locks and differential locks. Technical driving skill on various terrains. Using Namibian roads. Vehicle recovery. Practical use of equipment such as high-lift jacks, changing tyres, etc. Lecture on basic survival techniques in case of emergency. 4×4 quick reference card.
