Haus Woll
Karibib | Namibia
The Haus Woll (the Woll Residence) is a building along Karibib's main road. It is a granite stone and marble construction, quarried in the area. Granite was used to build the northern gavel and grey marble the western gavel. Burglar proof bars and a brown entrance door were added later. No structural changes have been made over the years and Haus Woll retains much of its original charisma and style. The house is still in use today, mainly as a shop and living quarters.
The entire main road in Karibib is flanked by well-maintained colonial buildings dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. There has been a desire to claim the entire road and its dwelling as a national heritage area, although only the Haus Woll has been proclaimed a national monument, which was on the 15th May 1986.
One of our favourite lodges in Namibia - excellent accommodation, food and beautiful surroundings make for an enjoyable and relaxing stay.
Situated at the foot of the Hohenstein mountain, this lodge offers many hiking and climbing opportunities. It is also well situated to visit the Spitzkoppe Mountain.
Specialising in family holidays and horse riding, Okomitundu offers plenty of activities
