Proviantamt

The Proviantamt is a government building that was constructed in Karibib 1911 as a German Schutztruppe quartermasters stores. It was known as the 'Proviantamt' a large storeroom for a variety of military provisions, clothing and equipment.
The building was erected in 1907 that included offices and storerooms for the German government. Part of the complex was destroyed by fire in 1945 along with the Zum Grünen Kranze Hotel and the Woll House.
The Proviantamt is situated between the main road and the Christus Kirche, a former Rhenish Mission Society building. It was proclaimed a national monument on 15th May 1986.
