The site where one of the first European explorers first landed, is now more famous for its Cape Fur Seals. During mating seasons thousands of seals can be seen lining the beaches at Cape Cross. Beware Cape Cross is probably one of the smelliest places in Namibia! The only accommodation available near Cape Cross is the Cape Cross Lodge, see the West Cost Recreation Area for camping, or stay at accommodation in Swakopmund and make Cape Cross a day trip. Cape Cross is open from 10am until 5pm daily. The following daily Namibian National Park Fees apply. |
