Etosha is one of Africa's finest National Parks. It is also one of the largest game reserves in the world, a fact of which Namibia is very proud. There are three rest camps in Etosha: Namutoni, Halali and Okaukuejo. All three of Etosha National Parks rest camps have spot lit water holes for night game viewing. Etosha has a wide range of wildlife including everything from lions and elephant to thousands of bird species. There are also a selection of private lodges near Etosha, and we are happy to advise and help with booking these. |
Halali - The central rest camp in Etosha
This resort is the newest in the park and is strategically located halfway between Okaukuejo and Namutoni. It is surrounded by some of the most popular water holes in the Park. The resorts name, of German origin, is derived from the bugle call made to announce the end of a hunt. It has the most secluded and scenic flood-lit water hole of all Etosha's rest camps. The resort has a swimming pool, restaurant and kiosk.
Okaukuejo - Etosha's most popular rest camp
he resort is situated at the southern entrance to the park. It currently functions as the administrative hub of the park and houses the Etosha Ecological Institute from where research and management is conducted. The unique attraction of the resort is that it overlooks a permanent waterhole that is flood-lit at night, giving you the opportunity to see the shy nocturnal animals.
