Namib Campsites
Camping in the Namib-Naukluft Park - Namibia
The Namib section of the Namib-Naukluft Park covers a vast area of Namibia and is one of the largest conservation areas in the world. Camping sites are available in the northern section of the park (close-ish to Swakopmund and Walvis Bay) at Kuiseb Bridge, Mirabib, Homeb, Kriess-se-Rus, Vogelfederberg, Bloedkoppie, Tinkas and Ganab. There are no facilities at these campsites. Permits are required for camping in these areas - at the time of writing a booking for the Namib Campsites allows you to camp at any of the sites listed but this is set to change and if you are interested in booking a specific campsite please mention this when making a booking.
Technically the camp-sites at Kudus Rus, in the Naukluft section of the park, and Sesriem, the gateway to Sossusvlei also fall in the Namib-Naukluft Park but as these are booked separately they are dealt with in their own sections.
Motorists can also visit the Welwitschia Trail this self-guided trail visits the moon landscape and the great Welwitschia plants. A permit for the Welwitschia trail can be obtained from the Swakopmund resorts office in Bismarck Street.
