Brigadoon Cottages
Swakopmund - Namibia
Brigadoon Cottages is 'smartly located' in the centre of Swakopmund and the main beach is just across the road. The heated indoor Olympic size swimming pool, the museum and the Lighthouse are not far away either. Within walking distance is the post office, banks, excellent restaurants, shops and the town centre. In fact, you can walk everywhere in Swakopmund from here!
Accommodation is in tastefully furnished colonial style rooms. There are 7 bed and breakfast garden cottages, including 1 family room. From June 2009, the family room and 3 of the garden cottages will be completely re-vamped (no kitchenette's) and from then on they will become self-catering units, complete with microwave's, kettle's, and toaster's etc.
Each room has a separate entrance facing the (secure) private garden. As guests make their tea/coffee and toast in the morning, a full English breakfast tray will be delivered to their individual patio. It includes fruit juice, fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt, bread, jam, and bacon and eggs of your choice.
There are also 2 self-catering apartments available, situated in the well-known apartment buildings, Am Strand and An Der Welle. One is a seafront apartment and the other is 100m walk from the main beach. Both of these units are fully equipped for the self-catering guest and have the added facility of a washing machine and tumble dryer!
An extra, and excellent security feature of the Brigadoon Cottages and apartments, is individual alarm systems, fitted to each room/apartment. There is also 24hr secure parking.

Directions:
If you are arriving from Windhoek, turn right off Sam Nujoma street (just before the information centre) on to Hendrik Witbooi. At the end turn left on to Theo Ben Gurirab, then right at the junction with Ludwig Koch Street. Brigadoon Cottages are at number 16, on the right hand side.

An art gallery turned guest house - the Space is truly alternative and worth a visit if you are interested in philosophical conversation, innovative thinking and staying somewhere out of the norm.
Top location, right on the beach. This is a very popular accommodation choice - and rightly so.
Very centrally located, includes traditional guest house accommodation as well as two separate self catering flats
Perennial popular choice, good quality accommodation with occasional wine tasting nights
Another very popular choice, offers excellent rooms at extremely reasonable prices. Possibly best value for money in Swakopmund
Absolutely unique! Built on stilts into the Swakop River - many units offer great views. Feels more like a traditional country lodge rather than an establishment in a busy tourist town.
A newer addition, situated in an old historic building near the town center. Expect attention to detail and Italian flair.
