Corona Guest Farm is situated on the C26, roughly half-way between Windhoek and Walvis Bay. It is a fairly traditional Namibian guest farm, set in the centre of a plateau and surrounded by a mountain range. There is some great scenery, it is at the foot of the imposing 'Gamsberg' at 2347m, one of the highest mountains in Namibia.

It's location makes it an ideal stopover on the way the dunes at Sossusvlei, Walvis Bay or Swakopmund.

This building has been rebuilt on the same site as the old Corona, (unfortunately burnt to the ground in 1995 after shortly opening) and the shady garden is full of beautiful flowers and tall shady trees. The main area has high ceilings, with a pleasant, cool temperature. There is a collection of old antiques and a variety of foreign and exotic memento's in here, not to mention some rugs, animal skins and an assortment of carvings.

The open-plan dining area and lounge, are next to a small bar. Corona Guest Farm pride themselves on their renown cuisine and catering, without forgetting those poor vegetarian's either. Set in grass, and away from the main house, is a lovely, large modern swimming pool.

Corona has 10 rooms in and around its main farmhouse. There are 4 'deluxe family-size suites within, – the Zebra, Elephant, Leopard and Oryx Suites, each with it's own interesting en-suite bathroom. These units are reached from the main lounge/dining room area, and have a selection of books and ornaments, and a mini-bar/fridge. The suites lounge area has a sofa, coffee table and a writing desk, with steps leading up to the bedroom, with a double bed, and a print mirroring the name of the room. A glass door leads to a private outside verandah, and on to the communal areas of the garden.

Outside the main farmhouse, and through the garden, are 6 standard rooms. Smaller and more modern than the indoor suites, they all have double beds, with bed-side table and lights, writing desk and chair. They have a separate en-suite bathroom, with a shower. Outside of these rooms, is a long, shaded veranda.

Further away are 4 en-suite tents. The nearby farmhouse, Piccadilly, with 3 double rooms, (for up to 6 people) is available for hire, along with the mountain hut, (for 2 people) both with a minimum rental period of 1 week.

Activities include swimming, horse-riding, collecting gemstones, a trek in search of Bushmen drawings, joining in farming activities, and game viewing of kudu, oryx, and the rare mountain zebra. The more active and energetic, might try a hike to the top of the 'Gamsberg' Mountain.

There is an 800m private landing strip near Corona.

The flat topped Gamsberg Mountain is Namibia's own version of Table Mountain. Due to the remoteness of its situation the area suffers from very little light pollution which has led to a large observatory being built here.

From Windhoek

follow Mandume Ndemufayo Avenue south passed the University of Namibia. Just after the university you come to a crossroads with the Western Bypass. Cross straight over this road, joining the C26. After about 32kms turn left (this is where the C26 and D1982 fork). Follow the C26 for another 118kms, over the Gamsberg Pass, then turn left on to the D1438. The Corona Guest Farm is 18 kms down this road.

From Walvis Bay

follow the C 14 for approx. 173 kilometres. Then turn left on the C26. Another 31 kilometres to the 1438 turn-off. From there you travel another 18 kilometres, and you have reached Corona
