Epako is an Herero word meaning the corner in a mountain range, and the lodge nestles against a hillside overlooking the Epako River. Epako is surrounded by 11 000 ha of dense African bush harbouring a wide variety of animals including cheetah, leopard, giraffe, elephant, rhino, eland, oryx, kudu, wildebeest, zebra, springbok, blesbok, waterbuck, impala and warthog. Epako Game Lodge is also home to numerous bird species, such as the easy to spot yellow billed hornbill, colourful lilac breasted roller and crimson Bou Bou. There are a number of waterholes nearby which attract the game, including one which is illuminated at night.
During your game drives, you will be able to visit sites of ancient Bushmen paintings and rock engravings. Sundowner drives for breathtaking views of Brandberg and Spitzkoppe can be arranged on special request.
Start your day by eating breakfast on the terrace with a view of an African sunrise. During the day, when not out enjoying the scenery or viewing the game, you can relax by the pool, enjoy a game of tennis or watch television while sipping a drink in the bar.
Accommodation is in one of the 24 double bedroom units. Each unit has an en-suite bathroom, telephone, air-conditioning and a mini-bar.
