In principle, Harnas is against the confinement of wild animals. There are, however, occasions where this is justified, for example, a tamed animal is no longer able to adjust to live in the wild and orphaned baby animals. Harnas will do everything within their ability to avoid any animal kept at Harnas or being resettled from Harnas being used for hunting purposes or commercial trade.

Harnas believes in life, and take their role in the conservation and protection of Namibian Wildlife very seriously. Conservation and Animal Welfare comes in many different forms, and we have our very special way. We trust we help visitors to make that very special connection between man and wild animal, together with our wild ambassador we do our part to create awareness and that is the first step in the plight of conservation.

Directions

As you enter Gobabis, you will approach a 4-way stop. Turn Left you are now on the road directly to Botswana . Follow this road for 6km towards Botswana. Turn Left onto road C22. The road sign Harnas Lion, Leopard and Cheetah Farm indicates the direction and distance. Drive for 10km, the road will change to gravel road. Drive straight for 30km. There will be another Harnas road sign. Turn Right. Drive for 7.5km. Again there will be a Harnas road sign. Keep Left and drive for 38km. The entrance to Harnas is on the left.
