Hochland Nest Lodge is a mere 40 minutes drive west of Windhoek and is the ideal breakaway from the city or for a tourist to start or end their journey in Namibia. What makes Hochland Nest so unique is the fact that it is next to the Friedenah Dam, which has water through out the year. The conservancy area around the dam is home to mountain zebra, kudu and oryx as well as many other small buck species. The birdlife is also spectacular and includes fish eagle, hamerkop and yellow hornbill.

The Lodge is cozy and intimate with friendly staff providing attention to each and every guest. 6 Individually styled and one family unit tastefully furnished, reed, brick and thatched chalets, each with a private bathroom and secluded outside deck. Each bedroom contains 2 three quarter beds and a double bed sleeper couch. Generous spacing between units ensures complete privacy. The lodge accommodates a maximum of 20 guests. The thatched dining, lounge area open onto a spacious wooden deck, affording uninterrupted views. Wildlife can often be observed from these vantage points. A fireplace and lounge are also available for guests. Swimming pool and other services include battery charging for video and digital cameras, laundry and secure parking are also available.

Hochland Nest is well situated for the last few nights of your Namibian self-drive itinerary, as it offers easy access to the amenities of Windhoek but still offers a tranquil bush environment.

Hochlands Nest Lodge is situated around 40 minutes from Windhoek. Follow the C28 west of Windhoek passing Daan Viljoen game park. Approximately 20km passed the park turn left onto the D1418 follow this for 12 km before turning left on a road sign posted for the lodge.
