Fort Khan Safari Lodge is ideally situated to visit the Spitzkoppe mountain range, as well as the Khan River. The lodge offers numerous day trips and activities, and is an ideal overnight stop between the coast and central Namibia. Apart from accommodation the lodge also offers mountaineering and abseiling trips.

1. Day trip to the Spitzkoppe
Day trip includes
a guided tour of the Spitzkoppe, refreshments, snacks, and packed meals.
Excursion duration: Full day
N$ 575 per person (minimum 2 pax)

2. Khan River Excursion

This trip takes the guests to one of the very few permanent water spots in the Khan River. It is a wonderful bird-watchers' paradise. The route to the river takes the guests through spectacular landscapes and the chance to view springbok, kudu, klip springer, zebra, ostrich and all the other small and wonderful creatures. "Kokerbome" and other very interesting plants are also on "display" on the trip. The excursion includes refreshments, snacks, and a mid-day stop-over with a traditional braai (barbecue) in the river bed.

3. Copper Mine Excursion
On the farm are interesting remnants of copper, granite, and mica mines. It has a full history of old prospectors and the stories surrounding these old pioneers of the mining industry. The roads to the mines are through beautiful mountainous areas with ample game, bird and plant viewing. The geological rock formations in the area are highly diverse and pose wonderful observation opportunities for the more geologically mined. Refreshments and a packed brunch will accompany the guests on the trip.

4. Sundowner trips
Takes the guests to an outcrop about 7km from the fort with a 180 degree view of the Erongo Mountains, Spitzkoppe, Brandberg and the Rossing mountains. The guests are spoilt with an array of snacks, champagne and any other pre-ordered refreshments.
