The Makalani Hotel is situated in the centre of Tsumeb. This establishment is an ideal venue for visiting business people, or as a base for self-drive tourists heading to and from Etosha National Park
The reception is in the main building, as are the restaurant, private bar and conference room facilities. There is an additional thatched dining room and bar, with big screen TV, an upper-level seating area and an indoor braai. It is outside this building that guests can relax in and around the swimming pool and beer garden.
Guests can order breakfast, lunch and dinner from the hotels 'a la carte' menus. Larger groups can select their meals from the hotel's set menu.
The Makalani Hotel has 28 rooms. 18 are in the hotel and 10 in a separate accommodation block. They all have en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, telephone and satellite TV and a tea/coffee station. There are also Internet and laundry facilities.
There are a number of self-drive activities in and around the area include the Tsumeb Museum, Hoba Meteorite, (the biggest Meteorite in the world) Oshikoto Lake and the Tsumeb Mineral Gallery. Skydiving at the Tsumeb Flying Club can be organized by appointment.
There is also a nearby golf course within walking distance and a short distance from Tsumeb is a well-established shooting range operated by the German shooting club, Schützenverein.
