Mamselle Nature Camp
Etosha - Namibia
Mamselle Nature Camp is situated 14kms north of Outjo, on the main road to Etosha National Park. The camp is only 1km away from the road, hidden amongst tall Mopane and White Syringa trees. Their traditional two bed bungalow, luxury two bedroom house, offer affordable and tranquil accommodation.
It can be used as a base to visit Etosha National Park or as a stop-over on the way to Damaraland and Kaokoland.
A self-catering bungalow is nestled privately in the bush, and was built by a traditional Kwanjama called Benjamin, who is also in charge of the camp. It was constructed using only local materials. It is fully-equipped with 12v lights, an oven, cutlery, two beds, a warm water shower, flush toilet, tea/coffee station, fireplace and a refrigerator. Free firewood is provided to cook your game meat on the 'braai' and under the stars. There is just one such hut in the world...on Mamselle Nature Camp.
The self-catering luxury house has two bedrooms with two beds per bedroom. There is an open-plan kitchen, with fridge, oven and cutlery. There is a toilet and shower, warm water being heated in a traditional 'donkey.' The verandah on this house overlooks it's own waterhole!
Game on the property includes kudu, oryx, duiker, porcupine, rabbits, anteaters and warthog. It is possible that a walk around the farm will lead to encounters with some of these animals.
This camp is self-catering and best for those looking for the remote and rustic experience. Activities at Mamselle are hiking and bird watching.
