Mamselle Nature Camp

near Etosha National Park - Namibia

Mamselle Nature Camp is situated 14km north of Outjo on the main road to Etosha National Park. The camp is about 1km away from the road hidden amongst tall Mopane and White Syringa trees. Mamselle Nature Camp consists of a traditional bungalow and three campsites, all of which are located away from each other, make these facilities very private.

This beautiful, yet different kind of bungalow, was build by a traditional Kwanjama called Benjamin who is also in charge of the camp. It was build using local materials and finished of with a true feel of a real African hut. It is fully equipped with 12V lights, an oven, cutlery, two beds, a warm water shower, flush toilet and a refrigerator. Outside is a ‘Braai’ with free firewood. The campsite is about 200m away. There is just one such a hut in the world…on Mamselle Nature Camp.

This camp is for those looking for a remote & rustic experience near Etosha.

Activities

• Experience Namibian farm life
• Take a swim in our typical Namibian farmdam which is situated 700m away from the camp, in the bush.
• Walk around in the field to experience the rich variety in plant life.
• In summer you can be lucky to find giant anthill mushrooms or the huge Mopane worm which indigenous people regard as a superior food.
• The town of Outjo is just 8 minutes drive away.
• Etosha National Park is only 45 minutes away.
• A rich variety of birds occur. Not a single morning will pass where birds singing does not awaken you. At down the Korhaan’s(Bustard’s) will keep you company.
• Game includes Kudu, Oryx, Duiker, Porcupine, Rabbits, AntEaters and Warthog. Some of these can be seen on the walking trail.

Directions

From Outjo drive 14km north on the Etosha road. On the left side you will see a board with Mamselle written on it. Turn left and follow the signs for 1km. Then you’re in paradise.
