The Minen Hotel is located in Tsumeb, a small mining town in northern Namibia. It is an ideal stopover for business people and self-drive travellers to the famous Etosha National Park and the Caprivi Strip.
The hotel prides itself on its traditional German hospitality and excellent cuisine. There are 3 restaurants, a public and a ladies bar. Lunch and dinner can be ordered from the chef's 'a la carte' menus and can be served in their famous beer garden or on the verandah. Breakfast is served either a buffet/style or from a set menu.
Accommodation is in either the Wild Garden or Pool Site sections. (No children are allowed in the Pool Site section.) All 50 double or single rooms have en-suite bath/shower, air-conditioning, TV, telephone, fridge and mosquito nets. Tea and coffee can be ordered throughout the day and a communal safe is available at reception.
Additional facilities include a conference centre, a swimming pool, laundry service, Internet connection and disability access.
A short distance from Tsumeb is a well-established shooting range operated by the German shooting club, Schützenverein. Skydiving at the Tsumeb Flying Club can be arranged by appointment.
Other self-drive activities in and around the area include the Tsumeb Museum, Hoba Meteorite, (the biggest Meteorite in the world) Oshikoto Lake and the Tsumeb Mineral Gallery. There is also a local golf course within walking distance.
