NamibGrens Guest Farm
Spreetshoogte Pass - Namibia
The farm Namibgrens, Afrikaans for 'bordering on the Namib,' has belonged to the Rabie family since 1940. It is an ideal stopover when on the way to Sesriem, the gateway to the dunes of Sossusvlei, and from Windhoek, (110 and 165kms respectively,) on what is a relaxed and scenic route.
The renovated and spacious farmhouse, is now a popular destination for tourists, the corporate, business, and private markets alike. With it's Conference and Workshop facility, it is a perfect venue for weekend breakaway's, prize giving ceremonies, weddings, birthday parties, as well as planning sessions and team-building exercises and events. In fact, the management of the farm, can arrange most tailor-made packages, whatever the occasion.
Facilities and services at the farm include fax, photocopy, and Internet access, laundry service, safe off-street parking, a bar and it is wheelchair enabled. Guests can huddle around the inviting fireplace on those cold winter nights. Unfortunately, no pets are permitted on the premises.
The restaurant and bar will keep it's guests fed and watered, (on tasty homemade and grown meals,) including breakfast, lunch, dinner and lunch packs on request, all served in either a traditional family dining room, or outdoor dining area. Lamb braai's and picnics can also be arranged. Fresh supplies can be purchased from the farm stall.
There is a beautiful large garden, and the abundance of water creates an ideal environment for bird watchers, whilst views from the escarpment into the Namib Desert are somewhat special.
Accommodation is in either 10 double rooms, 1 family room that sleeps 4, 1 single room, and 2 twin rooms, all with en-suite shower facilities, (but outside toilet,) and a lovely view of the garden. There are also 7 double en-suite rooms, sleeping 2 guests in each, with own bathroom facilities of a toilet and shower.
