Naua Naua Game Lodge
Etosha national Park - Namibia
Established in 1999, Naua Naua Lodge is situated south of Okaukuejo near Etosha National Park (off the C38), 45kms south-west of the Andersson's Gate entrance. The lodge is located on 24,000ha of farmland and lies amidst unspoilt countryside in the north of Namibia. It has spectacular views of the surrounding bush and it's abundant wildlife. Many self-drive tourist and small groups use Naua Naua as a base to explore Etosha National Park, as well as taking in and enjoying the lodge's facilities and activities. Fly-in and transfer by road from their nearby airstrip can be arranged.
The lodge was integrated into the natural environment, so that there was as little damage as possible to the indigenous flora and fauna. The main building's exterior therefore, blends into the surrounding nature and due to its position on a mountain slope, there are spectacular outlooks across Namibia's thorn-bush savannah and wildlife. The name of the lodge, Naua Naua, is Ovambo for beautiful, beautiful, a perfect title for an establishment if ever there was one!!!
There is a restaurant and bar, a pool and a Lapa with a satellite television system. The Lapa is a very popular venue especially at night, when you can view the goings on at the flood-lit waterhole. An Internet connection is available for keeping in touch with loved ones back home or keeping up with world events.
The pool deck also has an open-fire, which offers a great opportunity to have a chat with your hosts, and exchange some travel stories you may not have heard before with other visitors! You can also observe the waterhole from here. There are a number of shady areas around the sparkling swimming pool to escape the hot Namibian afternoon sun. A library and laundry service complete the lodge facilities.
Breakfast is served buffet-style, with light lunches available on request. Dinner is a set 3-course affair, meat and locally grown vegetables are a favourite on their menus.
Accommodation is now in 11 double and 1 single rooms. En-suite bathrooms, a fan, mosquito nets, tea/coffee station and a hair-dryer are standard. All rooms have an excellent view over the vast expanse of the farm, as well as the spot-lit waterhole from their respective verandahs.
