Otjibamba Lodge
near Otjiwarongo - Namibia
Otjibamba Lodge lies within its own 220ha private game ranch and is a popular stopover for both tourists and business people alike en-route to Northern Namibia and the Etosha National Park. The turn-off for the lodge is only 4kms south of the town of Otjiwarongo along the B1, which runs from Windhoek to Etosha.
The lodge is tastefully designed and furnished in an African-colonial style. It consists of a main building with reception area, a cozy lounge, reading room, curio shop, ladies bar and two restaurants. The lounge leads out onto a well-kept garden and large swimming pool, ideal chill-out zones. There is also a children's playground.
Otjibamba Lodge is known for its superb cuisine and excellent menu. The 'a la carte' menu specializes in a variety of game dishes, and their wine list has been recognized for its choice selection of South African wines.
Conference facilities are available and the main conference hall seats 40 persons, perfect for seminars, meetings and other smaller corporate events.
Accommodation is in 20 separate, spacious chalets. They all have an en-suite bathroom, (with bath/shower/toilet) TV, telephone, airconditioning, a desk, comfortable chairs and a veranda with a pleasant view of the surrounding bush. Safe parking is directly in front of the rooms.
The waterhole in front of the lodge attracts a number of game species such as giraffe, zebra, oryx, kudu, springbok, blue and black wildebeest and ostrich. Otjibamba also keeps rarer species such as blesbok, waterbuck and impala.
Visitors are encouraged to either drive through, or explore the park one of the marked walking trails. The opportunity to view the animals on foot, gives a rather more personal contact with the wildlife, and adds to the experience. Walking trails vary between 15mins and 2hrs in duration and an added bonus is that the indigenous trees along the way are labelled for easy identification. There is also a wide variety birdlife to be spotted and enjoyed as well.
