Otjisazu Guest Farm

Okahandja Area - Namibia

Otjisazu Guest Farm, a beautiful and historical guest farm, is situated in the Okahandja district, near to the Von Bach Dam. The farmhouse is nestled amongst an exotic garden, with a interesting variety of cacti and plants. It is also a HAN silver award for excellence in hospitality winner, for the year 2007.

Facilities available here include a waterhole and a comfortable lounge with a small library. Enjoy German cuisine, eaten mostly outside 'al fresco,' in the thatched restaurant and Lapa. A sumptuous breakfast buffet, light lunch, afternoon coffee/tea and a 3 course dinner are all served from here. The well-stocked bar has a comprehensive wine list, to compliment each meal.

After a long day's drive or hot summer afternoon, the crystal clear swimming pool becomes a well-used, and popular meeting place.

Accommodation is in 11 spacious twin-bedded or 2 family rooms, all individually decorated. The family rooms have 4 beds in each room, and all of the units have en-suite bathrooms.

Game drives on the farm area, presents an opportunity to view a wide variety of animals, including kudu, hartebeest, blesbuck, duiker, steenbuck, warthog, ostrich and black-backed jackal. Other activities, such as day trips to the Von Bach Dam, (with an array of water sports at hand) mountain biking, guided walks, and a visit to the Herero settlement of Ovitoto, can be arranged.

A visit to the small town of Okahandja, with its cultural sights, military museum, Herero graveyard and famous wood carving market, can also be organized. Guided horse riding trips at Otjisazu around 'Signal Mountain,' or to the riverbed, are favourite occasions around sunset.

Children are welcome at the farm.
