The Hotel Pension Palmquell is situated 45kms from the International Airport and only 2kms from Windhoek. This makes it an ideal destination to stay when visiting the country, either at the start or end of a journey, for business people and tourists alike. It is only 5 minutes drive from 2 shopping centres, and 10mins from the city.

It is the garden that gave the hotel its name, with tall palm and fruit trees and a variety of shrubs and succulents. The lounge is also an ideal place to relax and unwind, allowing guests to mingle and exchange travel stories and adventures, over a glass or two of fine wine. Whether inside next to a roaring winter fire, or outside in the lush garden or swimming pool in the summer, guests can be assured of a warm and cozy environment.

Before setting off in the morning, missing the hotel's opulent buffet is unthinkable. Omelette, bacon and eggs, freshly baked bread and rolls, cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit and juices, cold meats and a large selection of cheeses, can be enjoyed on the terrace, under the leaves of the magnificent palm trees, or in the comfort of the breakfast room.

In the evening the 'a la carte' restaurant opens for the hotel guests, specializing in Namibian venison and other superb game and fish dishes. Oryx medallions with green pepper sauce, pasta and vegetables, and fried sole with parsley potatoes and spinach, can all be complemented with a hand-picked selection of South African estate wines and delicious home made Austrian desserts. The restaurant is open daily, except for Saturday.

Accommodation at Pension Palmquell is in 16 spacious, luxury en-suite rooms. They are all equipped with en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning, heater, TV with English and German channels, a telephone, kettle and tea/coffee station, a fully stocked mini-bar and a safe. All of the rooms are furnished with king size beds, and a work desk with a modem connection. (User name and password are available at reception.) Each room has it's own special atmosphere and African ambiance, provided by paintings and hand-woven carpets, created by Namibian artists.

Directions:

Palmquell is at 60 Jan Jonker road. From the centre of town follow Independence Avenue south, this eventually becomes Jan Jonker Road. Coming from the International Airport to Windhoek turning on the first traffic light to the left, where there is a illuminated sign. Follow this direction 500m. You will see the hotel on the right side.
