Rainbow River Lodge
Kavango Region - Namibia
Rainbow River Lodge lies on the banks of the Okavango river, in the north of Namibia, and is near the small towns of Divundu and Bagani. Both Mahango and Bwabwata National Parks are within 10kms of the lodge, making this a great destination for wildlife viewing and photography.
The main thatched building has a restaurant and bar, and facilities and services include, a fax and photocopy machine, internet access, laundry service, braai area, and communal Mnet and satellite TV. There is a lovely garden, swimming pool and wooden decking that overlooks the river, to chill and meet other travellers. Pets are permitted by prior arrangement.
There is also a small conference venue at Rainbow River Lodge for up to 40 delegates. It is ideal for small get-togethers, meetings, seminars and travel discussions. A television is available.
Accommodation is in 20 semi-luxury chalets or separated camping for overlander trucks and self drive guests.
- The chalets - have en-suite bathrooms, (shower/toilet/washbasin) roof fans, 2 x single beds, mosquito nets and furnished with locally carved, hand-made furniture.
- The campsites - have 24 hour electricity, ablution with hot water and own braai/bbq area on grass right next to the Kavango river .
Activities include half and full-day game drives to Mahango National Park, boat trips to Popa Falls (where hippo and crocodiles can be easily spotted,) early morning and sundowner boat cruises, river Mokoro trips, freshwater fishing, canoing/kayaking, guided walks and a guided village tour to visit the Mbukushu people.
84 bird species have been recorded in and around Rainbow River Lodge, so camera's and binoculars at the ready! 4 of the big 5 can be seen in the National Parks.
English, Dutch, German and Afrikaans are spoken here.

Directions:
Rainbow River Lodge is situated east of Rundu. turn south off the B8 at Divundu onto the C48. The lodge turn off is 7 km from here, turn left at the hippo and the lodge is 700m from here.
