Royal Benguela Guest House
Swakopmund - Namibia
Set in a quiet residential neighbourhood, only 5kms outside of the Namibian coastal town of Swakopmund, is the Royal Benguela Guesthouse. It offers some of the best accommodation on the coastline, and it's central location provides the perfect base to peruse the towns shops, banks, historical sites and windswept sandy beaches, for tourists and the corporate market alike. Many visitors start or end an adventure into the Namib Desert from here.
Hosts Mac and Adrienne McGregor are ready and waiting to give a warm welcome to their guests. There are 2 lounges in the guesthouse, 1 downstairs with a comfortable sitting area and DSTV, and 1 upstairs with a pay-as-you-go modem and Internet facility. Breakfast is a combination of a cold buffet of cereals, tea/coffee, fresh fruit etc, and guests can order a hot English breakfast as well. The 'honesty' bar, has a fine selection of Namibian beers, South African wines and cold drinks, which can be enjoyed in the private garden. The indoor braai area can be used as an alternative to dining in the local restaurants, and is great opportunity to mingle with other guests.

Each room has an en-suite bathroom, TV with satellite channels, a fridge, tea/coffee station and an in-room safe. The second floor balconies, have wonderful views of the breathtaking sunrises over the Namib Desert, as well as magnificent sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean. The 2 outside rooms have disabled access.

Top location, right on the beach. This is a very popular accommodation choice - and rightly so.
Very centrally located, includes traditional guest house accommodation as well as two separate self catering flats
Perennial popular choice, good quality accommodation with occasional wine tasting nights
Another very popular choice, offers excellent rooms at extremely reasonable prices. Possibly best value for money in Swakopmund
Absolutely unique! Built on stilts into the Swakop River - many units offer great views. Feels more like a traditional country lodge rather than an establishment in a busy tourist town.
A newer addition, situated in an old historic building near the town center. Expect attention to detail and Italian flair.
