Thule is a mythical Scandinavian place, where the frontiers of reality – or the edge of the world – and the imaginary meet. As the hotel is situated high up on a hill above the city of Windhoek, it is easy to see how this myth came to be associated with the Hotel Thule.

As it is on a hill, visitors could be forgiven for thinking that it would be an isolated place, but the reversal is true. Many locals come for a sundowner and the dining room and balcony overlook the suburbs of Eros and Klein Windhoek. The hotel also provide conference and wedding facilities, the corporate area for up to 20 people, as well as a lapa seating 100.
The 'a la carte' restaurant offers international style cuisine, combined with Namibian taste and style. The adjoining balcony is ideal for 'alfresco' wining and dining, whilst admiring the star-lit skies above, or for starting the day with a sumptuous breakfast. Order a drink from their substantial wine list or down a cold glass of draught beer. Coffee and cake are served in the afternoons.
There are 25 en-suite, spacious, guest rooms. They include single, double and a luxury VIP guest rooms, and a specifically designed unit, for physically disabled guests. They all have air-conditioning, a work area, television, mini-bar and complimentary drinks, safe, tea/coffee station, hairdryer, wardrobe and heated bathroom floor and towel rails.
The Pension Thule is also a sanctuary for bird life, as well as fascinating creatures such as rock rabbits.
