Ugab Terrace Lodge

Ugab Terrace Lodge is nestled on a plateau and is situated in the heart many of Namibia's tourism attractions. It's central location, 90kms from Outjo, 60kms from Khorixas, and 120kms from Twyfelfontein, make it an ideal self-drive, stop-over for a couple of days to visit Vingerklip, Brandberg Mountains, Twyfelfontein or the Petrified Forest. Travellers can then head off to Etosha National Park or Swakopmund, depending on their itinerary. It is an ideal setting, in a relaxing and tranquil environment, before heading onwards to an exciting safari or coastal destination.
The lodge pride themselves on their attention to detail, personalized service and exquisite cuisine. Their chefs prepare delicious meals with fresh vegetables and salads, seasoned with aromatic ingredients from the herb garden. Meals and drinks can be ordered from a set menu in the restaurant and bar, including light lunches of sandwiches or pasta, and a selection of starters, game meats and a dessert for dinner. The lounge is a great spot to sip a sundowner as the sun sets, chat to other guests and there is also a fireplace and open-fire to ward off that winter chill.
An unusual feature at the lodge is the swimming pool, constructed in the rocks at the top of the mountain. It has some great views and guests can take a dip, sunbathe or just unwind and read a book on a sun-lounger. Local artifacts can be bought from the Ugab Terrace Lodge curio shop and there is a laundry service, 24hr security and parking, and 2 of the bungalows have disabled access. Power is supplied from either a generator or batteries/inverter, providing 24hr electricity to charge cell-phones and cameras.
Accommodation is in either 10 single or double, well-appointed furnished bungalows, all with an en-suite bathroom of a shower and a toilet/washbasin. The private verandah affords breathtaking views of the Ugab Terraces.
Situated below the escarpment are 8 luxury single or double tents, erected on platforms, all have their own showers, toilets/washbasins. Each tent has it's own table and chairs, wardrobes and 2 x ¾ beds.
Activities include bird-watching, exploring the local area on hiking trails and mountain bikes.

Directions:
Drive westwards from Outjo towards Khorixas on the C39. After approximately 90km turn left onto the D2743. Ugab Terrace Lodge is 10km along this road

This small lodge is located between Outjo and Khorixas - it was one of the first guest farms opened in Namibia

As the name implies this is situated close to the rock engravings at Twyfelfontein. A good quality lodge with reasonable rates.
