Villa Margherita
Accommodation in Swakopmund
The Villa Margherita is an antique Colonial villa, set in the heart of Swakopmund. It is over 100yrs old, and was originally known as the historical building of Dr. Schwietering Haus. At the end of March 2008, after a year's intensive renovation and upgrading, it opened it's doors to the public as a restaurant and guest house. The new owners, Claudine and Amelio, have created a 'guest house of their dreams,' whilst maintaining the original structure and unique charm of the old house.
In building such a place, a more relaxing, spacious and private environment was favoured. This concept enables their guests to receive a more personal and dedicated service from the Villa Margherita's staff.
There are 7 double rooms and the largest suite can be converted into a family unit, with two bedrooms and a lounge area. All the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, a private lounge area, flat screen TV, safe, hairdryer and wireless Internet connection. (An Internet point is available in the lounge bar). One bedroom offers two single beds whilst all the other rooms have either king or queen size beds. An extra touch is the fruit basket, cookies or Amarula glasses, placed in each room on a daily basis.
Across the road and close to the main building, there is an additional unit, 'The Honeymoon Suite.' It has it's own private terrace and parking and all the usual facilities associated with such a luxury apartment. It has stunning furniture, and is also equipped with a private laptop, full satellite TV bouquet, stereo system and a DVD player.
Breakfast is individually served, and guests can even order smoked salmon if they wish. Their Italian restaurant, 'Il Tulipano' is 'delighted to offer guests an exquisite, gastronomical experience.' The in-house restaurant serves a wide variety of Namibian ingredients, in an Italian way of cooking. It offers a fixed menu with regular new dishes, including freshly made pasta dishes, meat, seafood, as well as a mouthwatering assortment of desserts.
The restaurant also has a home bar, which serves a selection of beers, spirits and wines, a perfect setting to relax and unwind after a long day.
There is secure parking and a laundry services here. German, French, Italian and English are all spoken at the Villa.

An art gallery turned guest house - the Space is truly alternative and worth a visit if you are interested in philosophical conversation, innovative thinking and staying somewhere out of the norm.
Top location, right on the beach. This is a very popular accommodation choice - and rightly so.
Very centrally located, includes traditional guest house accommodation as well as two separate self catering flats
Perennial popular choice, good quality accommodation with occasional wine tasting nights
Another very popular choice, offers excellent rooms at extremely reasonable prices. Possibly best value for money in Swakopmund
Absolutely unique! Built on stilts into the Swakop River - many units offer great views. Feels more like a traditional country lodge rather than an establishment in a busy tourist town.
A newer addition, situated in an old historic building near the town center. Expect attention to detail and Italian flair.
