Namib Desert Dream Tour
Accommodated tour to the Namib Desert - Namibia
The Desert Dream is 4 day / 3 night accommodated tour to Sossusvlei, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Namibia, with the added appeal of an extra day's hiking and sightseeing in the spectacular Naukluft Mountains.
Travellers do not have to wait to reach Sossusvlei for the excitement to begin! The route to the famous clay pan, which is reputed to be surrounded by the world's highest dand dunes, is a truly memorable experience in itself: binoculars and camera's should be at hand at all times. Mountain scenery, a steep and picturesque pass, settlements and a canyon will all be viewed on the way to the towering red sand dunes of the Namib Desert. And if that isn't enough, then a guided walk and extensive drive will complete the desert dream safari in style.
Photographer's of all levels will have plenty of material to record; star-shaped mounds and ridges, picturesque scenery and the desert's fauna and flora await!
The Desert Dream has daily departures from both Windhoek and Swakopmund, and you can be dropped off in either of these locations at the end of the trip. This particular tour has proved to be one of the most time-effective journey's to see not just one, but two of Namibia's most visited and impressive sights on the same safari.
Many tourists enjoy the freedom of self-driving around northern Namibia, and then be guided on the Sossusvlei leg of their trip. This versatility allows the Desert Dream to become even more enjoyable, and it can also be added on to many other safaris.
The accommodation, which is at Namib Naukluft Lodge, is mid-range and comfortable.
Please note that this itinerary is for Windhoek - Sossusvlei - Windhoek. Tours starting and ending at alternative locations, will have a different route on day 1 & 4.
