Route/Activities
Day 1
Kalahari Desert
At around 09h00 we depart southwards via Rehoboth to Mariental and on to Anib Lodge, bordering the Kalahari Desert. This farm is also called the green jewel in the red Kalahari dunes and offers plenty of hiking trails and birding opportunities. During the course of the afternoon you may join a scenic farm drive.

Day 2
Fish River Canyon
After breakfast we drive further south along the Kalahari in the east. Stops at the Quivertree Forest and the ‘Giants Playground’ are included just before Keetmanshoop. During the afternoon we’ll arrive at the Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world.

A full day of exploring this scenic landscape around the Fish River Canyon lies ahead of us.

Day 4
Luderitz
We depart from this nature reserve through the Namib Desert to Luderitz. Once a bustling town with an important fishing industry and diamond diggings is now trying to recapture its importance in tourism. We’ll visit the historical Felsenkirche during the afternoon. It is located on top of the hill and it will give you a nice view over the city.

Day 5
Luderitz
Early in the morning, we suggest an optional boat trip to the Halifax Islands, home of the Jackass Penguins. Afterwards we visit some of the highlights in Luderitz: the Diaz Point and a drive around the various bays in Luderitz. The Nest Hotel has established a wellness centre and we suggest, that you enjoy one of their treatments on an optional basis.

Day 6
Klein Aus
After breakfast we depart to Kolmanskop, a former diamond digging bustling city, now a mining ghost town in the middle of nowhere. We return through the Namib Desert to Aus, where we stay at Klein Aus Vistas. During the afternoon you may want to join an optional drive into the Namib Park to view the desert wild horses of the Namib, or just relax and explore the vicinity on your own.

Day 7
Sesriem / Sossusvlei
We drive the scenic route along the Namib, visit the Duwisib Castle and then on to the beautifully set Namib Naukluft Lodge. After lots of driving, you might want to walk a beautiful trail in the mountains, which form part of the farm.

Day 8
Sesriem / Sossusvlei
An early morning rise will be rewarded by the sight of the spectacular dunes at Sossusvlei on your excursion. Make the effort and climb one of the star-shaped dunes and you may be overwhelmed by the sight of the dynamic and living desert. A full breakfast will be served at Sossusvlei. Visit the Sesriem canyon before returning to the Lodge for your lunch. During the late afternoon, a sundowner drive to the natural marble mountains on the 25,000 ha private nature reserve is offered.

Return to Windhoek via the Remhoogte Pass and arrive at around 12:30.

Included Safari in a small group with a qualified English and/or German speaking tour-guide. Accommodation and meals as listed above: Breakfast in each establishment, 1x lunch and 6x dinner. Activities as mentioned in the itinerary are included. All optional tours are to clients own account. Park-entrance-fees and porterage, as well as medical emergency evacuation insurance (to the nearest hospital) is also included. Still and sparkling water on board the bus free of charge.
Excluded Meals not listed above have to be paid by the client directly (e.g. 7x lunch and 2x dinner in Luderitz).
