Day 1
Namib Desert |
Departure from Windhoek at 08h30. Driving through the rugged Khomas Hochland mountain range we descend to the desert floor via the Gamsberg Pass, an imposing flat-topped mountain and one of the highest points in Namibia, which also provides a dramatic backdrop for a roadside lunch. We arrive mid afternoon at our tented camp set amongst the indigenous wild ebony trees and enjoy a short walk through the dry river bed and mountains near camp and where we have the chance to see springbok, zebra, warthog and kudu. Overnight in twin share bedded permanent tents with small deck. Dinner is prepared by your Guide with assistance from group. (L,D) |

Day 2
Namib Desert |
Pre dawn departure from camp to arrive at the park gate for sunrise, after paying for our park entry we drive to Sossusvlei to appreciate the beauty of this place in early morning light and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the region. We explore this unique area on foot before heading into Dead Vlei with its large expanse of bleached cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn trees scattered around, contrasting with a backdrop of huge dunes with their ever-changing colours. Before we leave this area we will stop at the famous Dune 45 and climb this dune if we wish or just wander around the base. We return to Sesriem and visit Sesriem Canyon on foot before arriving back at our tented camp late afternoon to watch the sunset over this spectacular desert. Overnight in twin share bedded permanent tents with small deck. Dinner is prepared by your Guide with assistance from group. (B,L,D) |

Day 3
Windhoek |
Aleisurely breakfast before returning to Windhoek via Bullsport and Rehoboth, arriving mid afternoon after which you will be dropped at your accommodation. (B,L) |
