The Sossusvlei camping safari starts in Swakopmund from where we travel through the Namib Naukluft Park, past the “Blutkuppe” to the Kuiseb Canyon. Two camping overnights at the Sesriem campsite. Experience unforgettable sunrise at Sossusvlei, amazing colour kaleidoscopes and the ghostly looking Dead Vlei. A nature walk in the Sesriem Canyon followed by sundowner on the Sesriem dunes rounds off your day. The return journey takes you through the Kuiseb Canyon to view the wide variety of seabirds at the Walvis Bay lagoon. The tour ends in Swakopmund.

Day 1
Sesriem |
The safari departs in the early morning from Swakopmund through the Namib Naukluft Park. Short visit and rest at Blutkuppe, a granite massif set in an impressive landscape. Continue via Hotsas and Ganab, two water holes in the Park, and enjoy the opportunity to watch savannah game such as oryx, zebra, springbok and ostrich. Picnic lunch at the impressive Kuiseb Canyon with its breathtaking views. Continue along the edge of the Namib Desert via Solitaire to the camp at Sesriem the campsite near Sossusvlei.

Day 2
Sesriem |
This morning the safari departs from Sesriem before sunrise for the trip to Sossusvlei, a dried up lake surrounded by the highest dunes in the world. Experience a spectacular sunrise full of nature’s contrasts and an unforgettable display of colour. Continue on to the “Dead Vlei”, a dry “vlei” with eerie, dead Camel Thorn trees. After a picnic lunch enjoy a short hike in the Sesriem Canyon. We end off the day with a refreshing sundowner.

Day 3
Swakopmund |
After breakfast return to Walvis Bay via the Kuiseb Canyon. Visit the lagoon with possible bird viewing such as flamingo, pelicans, sea gulls etc. Return to Swakopmund along the coastline, arriving in the early afternoon. (L,D) |
