From the ringing stones we will hike into the endless rock canyons at the banks of the Swakop river and at all times expecting the most unsuspected, like finding some tourmalines or just some normal crystal hidden amongst the rocks or in caves. Some parts of the desert will remind you of movies you have seen about the moon. Overnight stay will be in one of the canyons with a stunning view at sunset over the desert plains (B, L, D). |

Today we will have a fairly strong walk in the morning to make it back into the shades of the riverbed by lunch, where the Khan river meets the Swakop river. If we are lucky, we will be able to see even bigger wildlife, such as Springbok, Klipspringer, Ostrich, Baboon, Oryx and Jackal. Camp will be set up in wonderful scenery of the Khan riverbed (B, L, D). |

After a hearty breakfast we will start the day down the riverbed towards the oasis of Goanikontes. Here you can enjoy the pleasure of a nice refreshing pool during the hottest part of the day. In the afternoon we will walk on down the Swakop River and camp in the desert under the starlit sky (B, L, D). |

This day might be the longest walk, as we hike out of the mountainous riverbed and pass the black mountain 'Nuberoffkop', cross into the small moon landscape with huge fields of lichens. The camp for the last night will be set up at the edge of the first sand dunes (B, L, D). |

The mist that comes over the dunes from the sea, can make this a fairly chilly morning. By now you will feel the hike in your legs and some will certainly be happy to see the base again at about lunch time (B). |
